Why I Love This Recipe:

  • Easy to make- super easy recipe that anyone can make

  • Delicious- so tasty- these stuffed shells are the ultimate comfort food! With the creamy stuffed pasta covered in sauce and cheese? mmm, yes please

  • Great for making ahead of time- this recipe is meatless, only uses marinara, so with no meat sauce to cook this recipe is super easy to make ahead of time or to put in the freezer for later.

What You Will Need:

  • Jumbo pasta shells- cooked to al dente

  • Marinara sauce- your favorite brand

  • Egg-

  • Cheeses- ricotta, mozzarella, and shredded parmesan

  • Seasonings- Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper

  • Garnish- chopped parsley

How to Make It:

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F.

Cook the pasta shells 1 to 2 minutes less than package directions. Drain and rinse shells with cold water.

Combine ricotta, egg, parmesan, 1-1/2 cups mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

Spread half of the marinara into a 9x13" baking dish or 2 smaller ones, I like to use 2 deep pie pans then I'll put one in the freezer for a busy evening or when I just don't feel like cooking. Fill each shell with the ricotta mixture and transfer to baking dish. Spread the remaining marinara on top of the shells and top with remaining mozzarella.

Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once removed from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley and allow it to sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Now, all that's left to do is enjoy!
