This is probably the best cinnamon roll recipe you will ever find (no joke!) Soft and fluffy with an easy cream cheese icing. They taste like pure bliss!

I've always loved making cinnamon rolls and I've tried lots of different recipes, this one is by far the superior! They rise really nicely and turn out so big and fluffy! Whenever I make these at our house they are gone pretty quickly;) So, let me show you how to make them.

Ingredients you will need:

For the dough- milk, active dry yeast, granulated sugar, salt, egg, melted butter, and bread flour.

For the filling- softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

For the icing- softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.

ingredients for recipe

The first thing you want to do is warm the milk to lukewarm, you don't want it any hotter than 110 degrees or the yeast won't activate. Add the yeast and sugar, mix it up really well then let it rest for 5 to 7 minutes. If the yeast is active it will get foamy on top.

Next, add in the melted butter, salt, egg, and flour. Using the dough attachment mix until combined, continue mixing on the lowest setting for 7 minutes. This is where you can more flour as needed, you don't want to add too much just a tbsp at a time until a nice dough forms. The dough will be a bit sticky but it should pull away from sides.

Form the dough into a ball and place in a well-oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled about 1 hour.

While the dough is rising you can prepare the filling; in a small bowl, mix the softened butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together. When dough has risen, punch it down to remove the air, and form into a ball. Spray your work surface and a medium-sized baking dish with cooking spray. Roll the dough into a 16x16 inch square. Spread the filling evenly over the top and roll it up, starting at the side closest to you. Place it seam side down. Using a piece of thread or dental floss cut it into 8 equal pieces.

Transfer rolls to your baking dish, cover and let rise for an hour. When rolls have doubled, preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Transfer to the oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until they are nicely browned. They will expand even more in the oven.

To make the icing, beat together the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth then add in powdered sugar and vanilla, whipping until smooth and creamy.

icing

When the rolls have cooled down a bit - they can still be a little warm, spread the icing on top and enjoy right away, or when they are completely cooled, cover and eat later. There is just nothing that tastes better than a warm ooey-gooey cinnamon roll paired with a hot cup of coffee ohhh now I want one!
